מהי התוכנית?

 

מחנה הקיץ JCamp בווסטסייד JCC  - לוס אנג'לס - מציע חוויות לחניכים במסלולים מיוחדים עבור חניכים בגילאי  5-12. כחלק ממסלולי התמחות שונים במחנה הכללי, תכנית ה-"JCamp בעברית", היא אחת מהתככניות המיוחדות שהמחנה מציע. התוכנית מוצעת בשני מחזורים של ארבעה שבועות כל אחד במשך הקיץ. התכנית פותחה בשותפות עם ארגון ערבים/קיץ כיף, ומטרת התוכנית היא לחשוף את החניכים לסביבה דוברת עברית בגישת ההטמעה ובאמצעות חוויית יומיומיות במחנה. כמו כן, מטרת התכנית היא לעזור לחניכים להתנהל בשפה עברית מודרנית באופן משמעותי ותפקודי וליצור מוטיבציה לגבי שימוש בשפה במיוחד במיומנות הדיבור עבור כל חניכים ומכל הרקעים והרמות בשפה.  תחומי האחריות של הרכז/ת, כוללים גם את הכשרת הרכז/ת לאורך החודשים שקדמו לקיץ (גם אם הרכז/ת במשרה חלקית בקיץ או במשרה) יתבקשו להשתתף בסמינרים ופגישות עם המנטורים כדי להתכונן לתפקיד. משך העבודה בקיץ יהיה שמונה שבועות מלאים.

 

מהן האחריות/הפרטים?

 

רכז /ת תכנית "JCamp בעברית" הוא חלק בלתי נפרד מצוות ההנהגה במחנה ואחראי על תכנון מראש, כמו גם פעילויות והתנהלות יומיומיות  של חניכים ואנשי צוות. תחומי האחריות של תפקיד זה כוללים עבודה צמודה עם מנהל המחנה כדי לפתח, ולתכנן את פרטי "JCamp בעברית" לפני ובמשך הקיץ. התכנון כולל, אך אינו מוגבל, ללמידה על התוכנית עם יועצי ארגון עריבים/קיץ כיף, על כלים לרכישת שפה שנייה בסמינר אשר יארך כנראה בניו יורק או בזום המרכז/ת יתבקשו לקיים ראיונות ולעזור בגיוס שליחים ישראלים בסביבות בפברואר 2022 וכנראה בזום/מרחוק רכז/ת יוזמן להשתתף בסמינר שליחים בישראל באפריל 2022. במהלך הקיץ, רכז/ת התכנית "JCamp בעברית"  יפקח על אנשי  הצוות (השליחים הישראלים והמדריכים המקומיים)  של "JCamp בעברית" לגבי איכות הפעילות בתכנית העברית, אופן הפעילויות היומיומית במחנה, כמו כן גם בניהול הבטיחות וההתנהגות של החניכים. ובאחריות הרכז/ת ליישם את תכנון התכנית עבור הקבוצה אך גם לעבוד בשיתוף פעולה עם שאר קבוצות המחנה כחלק מתחושת השייכות של הקבוצה לכלל המחנה. רכז/ת התכנית יתבקשו להיות בקשר ישיר עם ההורים ולעדכן לגבי חוויית החניכים במחנה ובתוכנית העברית

 

מה אנחנו מחפשים?

 

● חייב להיות דובר עברית שוטפת

● תואר ראשון/BS  נדרש, תואר שני מועדף

● ידע רב במסורות וערכים יהודיים.

● גמיש ומסוגל להתמודד עם פרויקטים מרובים בו זמנית.

● היכולת לתפקד בשיתוף פעולה בצוות.

● שיפוט עצמאי, יכולת גבוהה ליזום לתכנון ולארגן לצעד ניסיון לתקצב וכישורים אדמיניסטרטיביים אחרים.

● חייב להיות בן 21

● 2+ שנות ניסיון בעבודה עם בני נוער במחנה או בסביבה אחרת

● בקיאים במיומנות תכנות מחשב כמו ב- MS Office

● יכולת עבודה  יעילה ובאופן עצמאי

● ניסיון הדרכה ומנהיגות, רצוי עם ילדים בגיל בית הספר היסודי

● היכולת לקיים אינטראקציה עם כל רמות הגיל

● היכולת קבלת החלטות ופתרון בעיות

● כישורי תקשורת בינאישיים חזקים כולל תקשורת מילולית וכתובה באנגלית ובעברית

● היכולת לעבוד ולעמוד בזמנים מוגדרים ולעיתים קרובים

● אישיות חיובית,  אופטימית  ונלהבת לעבוד עם ילדים

 

פיצוי:

 

בהתבסס על ניסיון של 20 דולר ארה"ב (USD) עד 28 דולר לשעה, כל הנסיעות + לינה לכל הנסיעות וההכשרות הנדרשות להכשרות

 

משרה הכוללת עד שתי נסיעות לישראל ותכוסה על ידי Westside JCC.

JCamp B’Ivrit Program Coordinator

What is the program?

​

JCamp at Westside JCC offers camper experiences with chosen specialty tracks within a general day camp setting for campers ages 5 - 12. JCamp B’Ivrit is an ongoing program which consists of two four weeklong sessions as a specialty track in our larger day camp program.  The program is put on in partnership with Areivim/Kayitz Kef. The purpose of the program is to fully immerse children in a Hebrew language environment through a traditional camp experience.  The goal of this program is to connect campers with Hebrew as a modern, spoken language and create an environment of excitement around speaking a new language for children of all experience and backgrounds.The Program Coordinator responsibilities include training and meetings throughout the months leading up to the summer part-time employee and then full-time seasonal employee for the eight weeks of the summer.

What are the responsibilities/details?

The JCamp B’Ivrit Program Coordinator is an integral member of our leadership staff team and is responsible for the advance planning as well as the day to day activities of campers and staff in their specific camp group.  The responsibilities of this position include working closely with Camp Director to develop, and plan the details of the JCamp B’Ivrit summer Hebrew Immersion program leading into summer.  Planning includes, but are not limited, to learning program partner Areivim/Kayitz Kef proficiency-based approach to Hebrew instruction, attending two-day leadership training program in New York, and conducting Shlichim interviews with Israelis remotely in February 2022 and the possibility of a training in Israel in April of 2022. During summer, the JCamp B’Ivrit Project Leader will oversee the JCamp B’Ivrit staff members’ in the day to day operations of the camp, as well as the safety and behavior management of campers.  They will also serve as a direct liaison with the parents about their child’s camp experience as well as plan and implement programming for their camp group both individually and collaboratively.

What are we looking for?

• Must be fluent in Hebrew

• BA/BS required, MA preferred

• Substantial knowledge of Jewish traditions and values.

• Flexible and able to handle multiple projects at the same time.

• Ability to function as a team player.

• Independent judgment, initiative and strong planning, organized, budgeting, & administrative skills.

• Must be 21 years of age

• 2+ years of experience working with youth in a camp or other recreational setting

• Proficient at computer skills and comfortable using MS Office

• Able to work efficiently and independently

• Experience in a leadership setting, preferably with elementary school-age children

• Ability to interact with all age levels

• Ability to make sound independent judgment and decisions when circumstances arise

• Strong interpersonal communication skills including verbal and written communication in English and Hebrew

• Ability to work with tight deadlines

• Positive, upbeat and enthusiastic about working with children

Compensation:

 

Based on experience $20.00 to $28.00 an hour, all travel + accommodations for all trips and trainings required of the position including two trips to Israel will be paid by Westside JCC.
